“Purveyor of deep, funky, infectious party vibes...”

That’s how Motive describes himself as a DJ.  Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy.  Having grown up on his parent’s eclectic combination and love of reggae music (Gregory Isaac, The Heptics), acid (Farley Jack Master Funk, Phuture), hip hop and soul music (Naughty by nature, Diana Warwick). This all became infused with his own love for jungle, house and garage music, Motive ended up with a massively mixed spectrum of musical influence.  Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: brooding basslines, high hat fusion, vocal hooks and progressing backdrops… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat.

Is how Mr D describes his style as a DJ. With numerous years of “Sound system experience” and many years of Live recording stints, morphing flavours together to create an uplifting experience has been the result of many years toil.

With influences from 90’s Rave music from Altern 8 & 808 State, Dancehall Ragga from Mega Banton, to 80’s Soul & POP Classics from Aura to Alexander O’Neal “broad” might be an understatement.
